  19. services responder in planning, setting up, and operating temp-
  20. orary communications in the field for emergency services, 
  21. forestry, the Red Cross and other agencies. He is a recognized
  22. expert in field response and all facets of Amateur Radio commun-

  24. portation and is the State OES HQ Auxiliary Radio Services

  27. There are some items that should be carried in the field or out 
  28. to a highway if an incident takes place and we are called out to 
  29. provide communications. There are certain items that need to be
  30. carried at all times on one's person and other items that should 
  31. be immediately available.

  33. Our state safety orders require anyone working on or near a
  34. highway wear a safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and 
  35. shoes or boots of sturdy design.  The footwear should have
  36. traction type soles for solid footing on slick, uneven surfaces
  37. such as mud, snow, grass, and pine needles.  One trade name, for
  38. example, is "Vibram", sometimes called "waffle stompers".
